PROCESS

This backpack is made from cotton fabric which has been screen printed by hand. Screen printing is a handcrafted printing technique where designs are transferred onto fabric using a mesh screen, ink, and a squeegee. A fine mesh screen is stretched tightly over a frame. A stencil of the design is created on the screen and ink is poured at the top of the screen. The artisan pulls ink across the screen with a squeegee, allowing the design to transfer onto the fabric with beautiful clarity.
