Bring a hint of heritage and artistry into your home with the Ikat pillow cover. Inspired by one of the world’s oldest textile traditions, this design captures the essence of classic Ikat weaving—reimagined through the detailed craft of hand block printing. The rich, geometric pattern in charcoal and madder red mimics the iconic blurred edges of traditional Ikat, adding movement, texture, and timeless appeal to your space. Finished with matching red cording that echoes the hues in the design, this piece stands beautifully on its own or layers effortlessly with others.
PROVENANCE
Ikat is one of the oldest known forms of textile decoration, with a legacy that spans continents—from India and Indonesia to Central and South America. The word Ikat comes from the Indonesian mengikat, meaning “to tie” or “to bind,” referencing the resist-dyeing process where threads are bound before dyeing and then woven to create intricate, feathered patterns. Though traditionally woven, this pillow celebrates the spirit of Ikat through block printing—offering a handcrafted take on a globally beloved art form.

PROCESS
Each Ikat cover is made using the time-honored technique of hand block printing. Skilled artisans in India carve the pattern into wooden blocks, then stamp the design onto natural linen—one careful print at a time. The result is a soulful, tactile piece with subtle variations that reflect the human touch behind the craft.
